Event Photography

Life is a series of events, both large and small. These events define and shape us into who we are and who we are to become. Some events are profound and come about unexpectedly. But every life is punctuated by events that have been carefully thought out and meticulously planned. These milestones and turning points deserve a visual record which exhibits the same level of care and dedication.

Reality Squared Photography can capture the event you have planned down to the last detail. We will work with you before, during, and after to ensure you get the photos you want, delivered to you in the manner that works best for you.

Capturing the Moment

Every event is different, and in its own way, unique. We make it a point of finding out what sets your event apart from the rest, and make that a focal point of our photography. We do our research in advance and work closely with you to ensure that when the key moments occur at your event, we are there to capture them. If it is important to you, it is important to us.

Understanding Your Needs

We understand the planning that goes into making an event happen, and we take just as much care in planning our event photography. We will work with you to discover which photos are important to you, which moments cannot be missed, and which lines should not be crossed.

If this means attending a rehearsal to learn the sequence of events and know when to be in the right spot, we will do it. If it is necessary to show up early to photograph place settings before guests arrive, we will be there. If you want photos of your commissioned ice sculpture while the details are still crisp, we will put on a parka.

We also understand that an event is nothing without people, and we will make it a point to capture the crowd and the guests of honor. We will talk with you to find out who is who, and be sure to get photos of the people who are important to you, whether it is a VIP, or just grandma on her first visit from out of state.

Providing Your Freedom

You have enough on your mind making sure your event goes as planned, or even just sitting back and enjoying it yourself. We can ease your burden by handling all of your photography needs. You don't have to worry about getting the shot, because we do it for you.

Having a professional photographer on hand brings with it a number of advantages. The most obvious is having shots that are properly framed, properly lit, and properly exposed. But there are also many advantages that most people never consider.

When you take photos at your own event, it is usually an afterthought. You are more concerned with other things, and might occasionally reach for the camera to take a picture. You walk away with a handful of images. With a photographer handling the photos for you, that handful can turn into hundreds, documenting far more of the event than you imagined. Our coverage also frees you to enjoy more of your event yourself, instead of worrying about the camera.

Not only are you free to experience more, you also get to see things you may not have experienced. As you look over the photos, you will inevitably notice things you did not see on the day of the event. It could be the eldest member of your family sharing a moment with the newest arrival of the latest generation. It could be a candid moment capturing the joy of laughter. It could be your guest speaker at the top of his or her game. But most importantly, it could be a photo you will cherish forever.

However, perhaps the most important ingredient missing when you take your own photos is you! You deserve to be just as much a part of your event as everyone else, and we allow you to be in front of the lens, where you belong. You want to be able to look back on the photos in the years to come and truly feel like a participant, rather than an observer.

Lighting the Way

Professional lighting does not have to be reserved for the studio. Compact and portable lighting setups allow us to dramatically light nearly any situation, even fluid, live events. This yields photos which are drastically different from what you see with standard, on-camera flash, and can make the photos from your event something to talk about.

Events For Everyone

Most people think of event photography in traditional terms: weddings, concerts, revues, recitals, luncheons, ceremonies, etc. But there is no reason that you can't have a photographer for any event you choose. From births to birthday parties, and graduations to reunions, a professional touch is always within your reach with Reality Squared.
