Portrait Photography

A portrait can say a lot about a person. It can be a reflection of a stage of development, a commemoration of a rite of passage, a symbol of status, or even just a remembrance of a period in time. Regardless of the meaning behind the portrait, it is important to find a photographer who is able to convey that meaning as you intend.

Reality Squared Photography has a unique approach to portraits, which centers on you. Our portraits are taken at a place you choose, at a time that fits your schedule.

Escape the Studio

Portrait studios do one thing, and do it often. They also do it the same: The same lighting, the same poses, the same backdrops. Their business is built on repetition. They get you in, they get you out, and they move on to the next person and do the exact same thing.

Reality Squared does not maintain a traditional studio, but instead does shoots on location. That location can be anywhere from your office, to a nearby park, to the comfort of your own home. You may not think of these places as conducive to a portrait session, but with some imagination, planning, and creative lighting, nearly any space can be transformed into a suitable backdrop.

Reflect Your Style

Why get photos of what you look like, when you can have photos of who you are? When you escape the confines of a studio, you are no longer bound by the limited backgrounds that make your pictures look exactly like everyone else's. This is your chance to have the background reflect who you are, just as much as the clothes you wear and the style of your hair.

If you are on the varsity football team, why not have your senior portrait in uniform with the goal post in the background? If you are a CEO and need a portrait shot to accompany a press release, why not have it taken in the lobby of the company you've built from the ground up? Your background could be the house you built with your own hands, the classic car you restored, or the park where your family has their picnics.

The choices are limitless, and can be tailored to represent who you are. The important thing is that you now have a choice.

Keep Your Schedule

Your time is important, and we will work with you to fit your photo session in when it works best for you. By coming to the location of your choice, we can cut down on your travel time. For publicly accessible locations, we can often set up prior to your arrival, further reducing your wait.

A portrait photographer that fits your schedule. It's about time.
